Abstract

The objective of this observation is to gain a deeper comprehension of how the linguistic strategy impacts the language proficiency of pupils. This study employs a quantitative observational research approach known as the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, which falls under the category of Pre-Experimental Design models. The observation was centered around a group of B2 by RA Siti Amelia. Data classification involves the utilization of methods such as tests, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involved the utilization of the t-test, as well as homogeneity and normality testing. The t-test findings indicated that the t-value was 2,201 and the calculated tvalue was 14.582, which was greater than 2,201. The two-tailed significance level is 0.000, which is below the threshold of 0.05, as determined by the paired samples t-test. The alternative hypothesis, Ha, is accepted while the null hypothesis, Ho, is rejected. A comparison was made between students' speaking abilities before and after learning the storytelling method. In this context, tcount>ttable refers to a calculation that utilizes a table to evaluate whether a hypothesis should be accepted or rejected. The storytelling strategy had a significant impact on the linguistic abilities of RA Siti Amelia's youngest students, with a rating of 1,5. According to Cohen's interpretation, this value which is categorized as large at 93,3%. Previous discourse indicated that the utilization of narrative strategies has a discernible impact on the language proficiency of students.
