Abstract

Based on initial observations carried out by researchers, at RA AL Fajar Medan Denai it was found that many early childhood feel bored with the old method, namely with letter cards so that early childhood abilities letters so that early childhood ability in recognizing letters is less than optimal then this research This study aims to improve the ability to recognize letters in early childhood by using snakes and ladders games. early childhood by using snakes and ladders games at RA AL-Fajar Medan Denai school year 2023/2024. The subject of this research is group B children whose number is 14 people, divided into women totaling 7 people and men totaling 7 people. people. The research method used is the PTK (class action research) method, which uses the Kemmis model. research), which uses the Kemmis and McTaggart model using 2 cycles. cycles, where the results of this research show that the ability to recognize letters in early childhood can be improved by using recognizing letters in early childhood can be improved significantly through the the use of snakes and ladders game. This can be observed from the success of each cycle where in the first cycle there were 4 children out of 14 children (63%) who could recognize letters with the snakes and ladders game while in cycle II there were 11 children out of 14 children (92%) who can recognize letters very well. Conclusion. this research is that using the snakes and ladders game can increase the ability to recognize letters in early childhood. recognize letters in early childhood.
