Abstract

This research examines the implementation of project-based learning in building the character of IT SD students in Southeast Aceh district. One effort to internalize character in students is the Implementation of Project-Based Learning. This study aims to examine the effect of the effectiveness of character building on students using the Project-Based Learning approach. The approach used in this research is qualitative. The research data sources are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed: first, the character of students at SDIT Aceh Tenggara District varied, some had good characters such as honesty, discipline, courage, responsibility, and others, but some were not good, such as lying, lazy, and so on; second, the implementation of Islamic Religious Education learning with a Project-Based Learning Model at SDIT Aceh Tenggara District is adjusted to the number of students; third, the supporting factors in implementing project-based learning in building character at SDIT Aceh Tenggara include: first, subject teachers who are professional in their fields; second, there is student enthusiasm in participating in project-based learning; third, positive student motivation, and adequate educational facilities. Some of the obstacles in projectbased learning are the presence of students who do not have the courage to think critically, which has an impact on their ability to express opinions. The next obstacle is that some teachers do not understand project-based learning, which has an effect on their ability and motivation.
