Abstract
This research aims to determine whether there is an influence of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model in improving the ability to write news exposition texts in class V students at SD Negeri 054886 Sp. Yon Linud 100, Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency. This research uses quantitative methods with a pre-experiment one group pretest posttest design. The results of the research showed that there was an increase in students' ability to write news exposition texts after being given treatment. The CIRC learning model allows collaboration between students through group discussions. With structured learning steps, the CIRC learning model has an influence in improving the ability to write news exposition texts in class V students. This research provides a deeper understanding of learning that can improve students' writing skills.
