Abstract
The researcher discovered a variety of issues with teaching English in a preliminary study at SMAS Al-Washliyah 1 Medan. First, when students spoke English they were afraid of making mistakes. Second, they were confused what was going to talk. Third, the students still faced many difficulties to pronounce each word well. The last, the student’s were hesitant and anxious to say English sentences. The result of all of these issues was that the students were unable to speak English fluently. A quantitative strategy and a quasi-experimental design were used in the investigation. This study specifically used a pre-test post-test group quasi-experimental design. The experimental class and the control class were created out of the research samples. The control class did not get any treatment beyond what the teacher typically utilized in class, while the experimental class was treated by the researcher using the guessing game "Who am I". The population of this study from eleventh grade of SMAS Al-Washliyah 1 Medan, and the researcher's sample consisted of just 2 of those classes. 30 students from the experimental class and 30 students from the control class make up the sample for this study. The researcher employed an oral test in which the teacher asked the students to describe a visual while the others made educated guesses as a tool for gathering data. Pre-tests were administered prior to treatment, and post-tests were administered following treatment. The normality score between lCount and lTable reveals that lCount has a value of 0.118980509, whilelTable has a value of 0.161974406 bigger than l count means H0 Accpted and homogenity test score fCount and fTable reveals that fCount has a value of 1.971209913, while fTable has a value of 1.860811435 smaller than fcount means H0 rejected an conclude there is significance effect from applying this method.
