Abstract

The research is entitled Representation of Semiotics of Ferdinand De Saussure in “Film Jakarta vs Everybody”. The purpose of this study was to determine the semiotic representation of Ferdinand De Saussure in the film Jakarta vs Everybody, to find out thesignifier conveyed in the film Jakarta vs Everybody, to find out the signified in the film Jakarta vs Everybody. This type of research is descriptive qualitative using Ferdinand de Saussure. Semiotic analysis method he developed two systems, namely signifier, the signified and the meaning that is contained and what is to be conveyed in it. This film tells the story of the life of a young man from Padang, West Sumatera who migrates to the metropolitan city of Jakarta to realize his deram. But instead of getting a life according to what he envisioned, dom actually got a rather winding and complicated life. Early in his life in the metropolis, Dom meets a drug dealer and offers him to be a drug courier. The results of the study concluded about the signifier and signified as well as the meaningof thefilm, namely this film is more directed to the moral message seen from the scene of each episode.
