Abstract

Objective: One of the variables that affect performance is work stress. Nurses who experience work stress can reduce performance in providing nursing care. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find the relationship between work stress and performance in nurses at the Sinar Husni General Hospital (RSU). Methods: The research design used is Cross Sectional type of quantitative research. The population in this study were 85 respondents with samples taken, namely from 85 respondents with a total sampling strategy. Information data collection ended with a survey/questionnaire of work stress and performance. Data analysis used the spearman-rho correlation test. Results: The results of this study obtained respondents with severe stress 41.2%, respondents who experienced moderate stress 28.2%, respondents who experienced mild stress 30.6% of the total sample. Respondents with poor performance were 43 or 50.6%, fairly good performance 19 or 22.4% and good performance 23 or 27.1% of the sample. With a value (P-Value) = 0.000. Conclusion: The final result of this study is that there is a relationship between work stress and the performance of nurses at Sinar Husni General Hospital. Suggestion: Every leader is expected to be able to get closer and eliminate the feeling of awkwardness between nurses and superiors in order to establish a good relationship as a form of controlling work stress and nurse performance.
