Abstract

A person's health status is largely influenced by their diet. Nutritional status is one of the things that can be influenced by nutritional knowledge and how that knowledge is used. This study aims to determine whether the nutritional status of UINSU Medan public health students is influenced by consumption patterns and nutritional knowledge. Research method: This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design and a sample size of 400 people. Simple random sampling method was used to select 80 respondents as the sample. Through polling and Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Results of this study: There is a p-value of 0.045 (<0.05) between UINSU Medan public health students' knowledge about nutrition and nutritional status, and there is a p-value of 0.002 (<0.05) between UINSU Medan public health students' consumption patterns and nutritional status. Suggestion: Partnering with health workers or nutritionists to provide nutritional status counseling on an ongoing basis is expected to increase student awareness of nutritional status complaints.
