Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out 1) Adaptation of extracurricular planning in developing students' interests and talents, 2) Adaptation of extracurricular organization in developing students' interests and talents, 3) Implementation of extracurriculars in developing students' interests and talents, 4) Adaptation in supervising extracurricular activities in developing the interests and talents of students at MTs Al-Ittihadiyah Medan Johor for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This research is a type of qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Participants in this study were the Head of Madrasah MTs Al-Ittihadiyah Medan Johor, PKM III, and Extracurricular Activity Trainers at MTs Al-Ittihadiyah Medan Johor. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Using data analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman by means of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity techniques are carried out using credibility, transferability, dependability and certainty techniques. The results of this study reveal 4 findings, namely: 1) Adaptation of extracurricular planning in developing the potential interests and talents of students at MTs Al Ittihadiyah Medan Johor begins by paying attention to the situation and environmental conditions first, after that extracurricular planning is made starting from setting goals, grouping students according to their interests and talents and choose a coach. 2) Adaptation of extracurricular organization in developing the potential interests and talents of students at MTs Al Ittihadiyah Medan Johor begins with creating an organizational structure, clear and detailed division of tasks of authority and responsibility. But there are still a few extracurriculars at MTs Al Ittihadiyah that have an organizational structure and there are even extracurriculars that don't have an organizational structure at all. 3) The implementation of extracurricular activities in developing the interests and talents of students at MTs Al-Ittihadiyah Medan Johor has been going well and is conducive. But there are still some obstacles, namely inadequate infrastructure but the school continues to try to fulfill them. 4) Adaptation of supervising extracurricular activities in developing the interests and talents of students at MTs Al-Ittihadiyah Medan Johor is carried out by the school itself. Supervision is carried out when extracurricular activities are carried out and supervision is also carried out by collecting the values of students who take part in extracurricular activities every month
