Abstract

SMP PAB 1 KLUMPANG. There are two objectives in this study. The first objective is to know how is the implementation of the use of YouTube application as a media in teaching. Then, the second one is to describe What is student improvement at Speaking Skills after applied the use of YouTube application as a media in teaching at SMP PAB 1 KLUMPANG. This research took place at SMP PAB 1 KLUMPANG. The subjects of this study were 24 students. This study's methodology was known as "classroom action research." Two cycles of the investigation were used to conduct it. Throughout their existence, the cycles I and II each had two meetings. A variety of techniques were used to gather the data, including pre- and post-tests, interviews, observations, and documentation. Field notes, an observation sheet, and the outcomes of the pre-test and post-test, respectively, were used to gather the data. To analyze the data, both qualitative and quantitative methods were used. The researcher performed an analysis of the qualitative data using the following three steps: reducing the data, displaying the data, and checking the data are the three steps. The quantitative data were investigated using the score as the dependent variable in order to obtain the overall class mean. The study's conclusions suggested that using the YouTube app as a form of media could improve the pupils' verbal communication skills. The students were motivated and able to develop their ideas in order to produce a shorter sentence with better vocabulary, sentence structure, and pronunciation, according to the qualitative data. With great enthusiasm, they also took part in the teaching and learning activities. The overall mean grade for the class in cycle I was 57.6, and when the increase was accounted for by the quantitative data, it increased to 64.9 in cycle II, according to the study's findings. It was concluded from the results that the students' overall performance in terms of their speaking skills had improved..
