Abstract

The use of online journals cannot be separated from students who do online learning. The purpose of this study is to find out the students’ perception on the use of online journal as a media in learning English by UINSU 2019 English. This study took the population of UINSU's 2019 Stambuk English students, Deli Serdang. The study used qualitative methods consisting of 35 English students. In selecting samples, researchers use simple random techniques aimed at. Data is collected from questionnaires and interviews. Based on the result of the research, the researcher concluded that the moststudents had positive perception or agreed toward English as a media in learning English that could help the students improve their English skill and of course online journal become the main references for them. It couldbe seen from the finding through questionere and interview section. Based on data taken from the results of questionnaires and interviews conducted by students, researchers found three perceptions, namelyonline journal is one of the very most important media in learning, online journal helped the students to get many sources about their subjects, students found some difficulties in accessing the online journals.
