Abstract
This study uses a type of literature study that aims to describe the inquiry learning model applied in the mathematics learning process. Reference data in this study were obtained through pure library research, namely by discussing written references such as scientific articles. The analysis stage in this study consists of several steps, namely summarizing the data, raising discussion points, developing data according to interests, checking the data, disclosing the collected results, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study illustrate that the inquiry learning model in step-learning has a relationship with students' critical thinking skills, where students were able to formulate problems and hypotheses, select data & information, recognize assumptions, convey explanations, evaluations, and draw conclusions on existing problems. Also, with the level of education, where at the elementary, junior high and high school levels with the use of the inquiry learning model the ability to think critically is quite good. So, it can be concluded that the inquiry model learning is able to improve students' critical thinking skills when used in learning activities
