Abstract

This study aims to determine; (1) Knowing the behavior of the head of the madrasah in communicating the vision and mission in implementing the curriculum program at MTs Al Ittihadiyah Pangkalan Masyhur Medan, (2) Making decisions by the head of the madrasah in implementing the curriculum program at MTs Al Ittihadiyah Pangkalan Masyhur Medan, (3) Exemplary behavior of the head of the madrasah in implementing the curriculum program at MTs Al Ittihadiyah Pangkalan Masyhur Medan, and. (4) The behavior of the head of madrasah in motivating teachers in implementing curriculum programs at MTs Al Ittihadiyah Pangkalan Masyhur Medan This research method uses a naturalistic qualitative approach. To collect data used interview techniques, observation and document review. While the data analysis techniques used are data reduction procedures, data exposure and verification / drawing conclusions. In ensuring the validity of the data, triangulation (cross- checking) techniques are needed, both triangulation between methods, namely interviews with observations, and document review. In addition, triangulation is used among informants, head of madrasah, deputy head of madrasah, teachers, as well as education personnel and supervisors. There are four findings in this study, namely: The first finding shows that the communication of madrasah principals in implementing curriculum programs is carried out by means of formal and non-formal communication and actively conveying the vision and mission in ceremonies, planning meetings, implementing and evaluating curriculum programs. The second finding shows that the decision making made by the head of madrasah in implementing curriculum programs is collaborative, participatory with deliberations so that it becomes a strength in building organizational commitment in implementing curricular and extra-curricular programs. The third finding shows that the exemplary principal of madrasah in implementing curriculum programs is disciplined behavior, worship, and obedience to rules so as to support the implementation of the curriculum in learning in the classroom and outside the classroom
