Abstract

Objective: The things that can be the cause of the disruption of employee comfort is a state of work stress that is influenced by the workload owned by the employee. Therefore this study was conducted with the aim to determine the relationship of workload with work stress on employees at the Office of the Ministry of Religion in Binjai City. Method: The research design used is Cross Sectional with quantitative research types. The population in this study were 77 respondents with a sample taken of 44 respondents with a proporsionate stratified random sampling technique and using the Taro Yamane formula. Data collection was carried out using a workload and work stress questionnaire. Data analysis uses sparman-rho correlation test. Results: The results of the study found that found respondents with high workloads of 2 (4.5%), respondents with moderate workloads of 37 (84.1%) and respondents with low workloads of 5 (11.4%). High work stress is as much as 2 (4.5%) respondents, moderate work stress as many as 36 (81.8%) respondents, and low work stress as much as 6 (13.6%). Value (p) = 0,000. Conclusion: The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between workload and work stress on the employees of the Office of the Ministry of Religion in Binjai City. Suggestions for employees to be able to maintain positive emotional management in responding to workloads to continue to assume that it is an obligation that must be resolved, so that potentials that do not cause work stress will arise.
