Abstract

In the Qur'an the terms of the ummah with all kinds of derivatives are found 64 times. The meaning of the term of the ummah is also interpreted by the mufassirin with various meanings. Along with that, this article reveals the Qur'anic insights about the term ummah in a semantic perspective. This discussion was considered very important, because the Qur'anic commentators could never escape the semantic touch, when they interpreted the verses of the Qur'an, and in this case the word ummah itself.
