Abstract
This study explores the effectiveness of the Free4Talk online language platform in enhancing English speaking skills among university students. Despite the growing interest in online language learning tools, there is a notable lack of research specifically addressing Free4Talk's impact on speaking proficiency. Employing a quantitative descriptive research design, the study involved a sample of 50 university students who regularly utilized the platform. Data was collected through an online speaking test assessing five critical components of speaking: fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, comprehension, and grammar. The analysis, conducted using SmartPLS software, revealed a significant positive correlation between Free4Talk usage and improvements in speaking skills, with a t-statistic of 17.140 and a p-value of 0.000. The findings indicate that Free4Talk accounts for 63.7% of the variance in speaking abilities, particularly enhancing fluency and grammatical accuracy through authentic language interactions and immediate feedback. However, the study also acknowledges that 36.3% of the variance is influenced by other factors, highlighting the necessity for complementary learning strategies. This research underscores the importance of integrating technology into English as a Foreign Language (EFL) education, suggesting that platforms like Free4Talk can effectively address the limitations of traditional classroom settings and foster better speaking skills among students.
