Abstract

This research aims to describe the biography of Imām Al-Ājurri, analyze the ethics of memorizing the Al-Qur'an from the perspective of Imām Al-Ājurri in the book Akhlāq Ḥamalat Al-Qur'ān and analyze the relevance of the ethics of memorizing the Al-Qur'an from the perspective of Imām Al-Ājurri in the book Akhlāq Ḥamalat Al-Qur'ān with the current ethics of memorizing the Al-Qur'an. This research uses qualitative research using a library study approach (library research) and uses content analysis techniques as data analysis techniques. The results of this research show that there are 4 big points of ethics that must be considered when interacting with the Koran, namely: ethics in reading the Koran, ethics in memorizing the Koran, ethics in teaching the Koran and ethics in practicing the Koran. In detail, the ethics of reading the Qur'an include: purity and siwak, seeing the mushaf, prostrating when passing through the verses of the prayer mat, sitting and facing the Qibla, living and crying, tafakkur and tadabbur, guarding your gaze, praying and glorifying, stopping when you are sleepy. Meanwhile, the ethics of memorizing the Qur'an are: sitting facing the teacher, understanding him, being patient and remaining gentle when scolded, depositing memorization of the ḍabit, making him comfortable, grateful, praying for him, glorifying him, fulfilling his rights, practicing as taught, obeying him, stop when the teacher has a need, repeat lessons, linger in the mosque, have noble morals. Ethics for teaching the Qur'an are: Tawaḍu’, facing the Qibla, facing students, fulfilling students' rights and being fair, prioritizing studying al-fatihah and popular surahs, listening to readings, listening to memorization by person and talaqqi are permitted to be busy, correct gently, do not ask to be served, and be sufficient with the Qur'an. The ethics of practicing the Qur'an are: pious, wara’, sensitive to the times, seeking Allah's approval, repairing damage, guarding the tongue, laughing a little, not arrogant, protecting oneself from what is haram, not ignorant, not unjust, not going beyond limits, arranging anger, tawaḍu’, hating arrogance, not looking for food with it, independent, covering the private parts, qana'ah, filial to parents, connecting relationships, being friends with believers, gentle, friendly and patient, civilized according to the Qur'an and sunnah, educate his soul, understand and think about the contents, practice the Koran. The relevance of Imām Al-Ājurri's perspective of memorizing the Al-Qur'an ethics in memorizing the Al-Qur'an is currently globally relevant and worthy of being applied to current memorizers of the Al-Qur'an.
