Abstract
The application of the demonstration method as a strategic effort to build student character from an early age, basic education has an important role in shaping the character and behavior of students, especially in terms of increasing social awareness such as infaq and sharing. This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the demonstration method in teaching infaq and sharing at SD Muhammadiyah Tanjung Morawa. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the demonstration method improved students' understanding of the concepts of infaq and sharing, as well as forming social characters such as empathy and caring. Activities such as apperception, group discussion, video playback, sharing practice, and infaq demonstration succeeded in actively involving students. The advantage of this method is that it provides hands-on experience that improves students' memory and engagement. However, challenges such as limited facilities and time must still be considered. This study shows that the demonstration method is effective in instilling social and religious values in elementary school students.
