Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide a description of the function that guidance and counseling instructors (BK) play in delivering information services to students at SMP 6 Percut Sei Tuan in order to cultivate honest behavior. The descriptive method of qualitative research is the one that is utilized in this study. Observation, interviews, and documentation are the three methods that are used in data collection. This study relied on primary sources for its data collection. The participants in this study were 9 pupils in seventh grade at the junior high school level. This method of analyzing research data makes use of data analysis methods created by Miles and Huberman. In this particular paradigm, analysis is comprised of the following steps: data reduction, data display, and conclusion and verification. The techniques of source triangulation, data collection methodology triangulation, and time triangulation are available for use in ensuring the validity of data. The following are the findings from this research: 1). Because the students were able to comprehend how to create an honest attitude within themselves, the application of the information services that were offered to the nine pupils was highly successful. 2) The responsibility of guidance and counseling teachers (BK) in responding to dishonest behavior is to provide information services that contain material about the benefits of maintaining an attitude of honesty. These services should be supplemented by media infocus and lectures. then were nine respondents who had problems with honesty, such as cheating, when they were in junior high school, and this was one of the factors that was found from honest behavior then. Students cited a lack of interest in studying, underestimating the difficulty of lectures and tests, a pattern of persistent cheating, and a lack of confidence in their own answers as explanations for their poor performance on exams.
