Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that has implemented a social security program with the function of assisting the community in meeting their health needs. JKN targets the total national membership in 2024 or Universal Health Coverage (UHC), which is as much as 98% of the total population. It's just that the social security program has not been owned by all the people of Indonesia. Indonesia as of November 30 2021 the total coverage of JKN is 229,514,068 people with a total number of participants receiving contribution assistance (PBI) of 99.14 million people, Wage Recipient Workers (PPU) of State Administrators of 18.34 million people, PPU Non State Administrators 40, 71 million souls. 30.91 million non- wage workers (PBPU), 3.86 million non-state administrator employees, 512,710 non-state administrator workers (BP), 36.01 million registered local government residents. This shows that JKN membership is not in accordance with the UHC target. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors related to the community's demand to become independent JKN participants in Dagang Kerawan Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang. This research is a quantitative study using primary data obtained from JKN participant respondents in Dagang Karawan Village. The sample of this research is 100 respondents. Data analysis used univariate analysis, bivariate analysis used the Chi-Square test. The bivariate results in this study revealed that the variables associated with the demand for independent JKN participants were the ability to pay JKN contributions (p=0.001), family income (p=0.001), the number of family members (p=0.001), estimates of health status (p=0.001).
