Abstract

Polio is an infectious disease caused by infection with the poliomyelitis virus which attacks the nervous system in the brain and spinal cord and can be prevented by administering polio immunization. Polio immunization coverage in WHO member countries there are still 4% of infants who have not been fully vaccinated. In 2018 WHO reported that the Southeast Asian region was shocked by findings of polio cases in several countries including Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the coverage factors for polio immunization in Aceh, DKI Jakarta and North Sulawesi. The type of research used is quantitative with the secondary data analysis approach of the 2017 IDHS and uses a cross-sectional study design with a sample size of Aceh 518, DKI Jakarta 304, and North Sulawesi 101, the analysis used is univariate and bivariate using the chi-square test. The results of this study are that there is a relationship between age (0.00), education (0.05), ANC (0.003), and place of residence (0.05) with coverage of polio immunization in children in the Aceh region, in the DKI Jakarta area there are no variables that have a significant relationship with polio immunization coverage in children, and the North Sulawesi region showed a relationship between gender (0.05) and polio immunization coverage in children. It is hoped that there will be collaboration between the health sector and also the community to socialize the importance of immunization in children in order to increase immunization coverage in every region in Indonesia.
