Abstract

Many local figures of north sumatera which later entered in the national site, ex: m. Arsjad Thalib Lubis, Musthafa Husein, Salim Fachry, Tengku Fachroeddin, Zainal Arifin Abbas, Fuad Said, Ismail Banda, Adnan Lubis, Udin Sjamsuddin, And Abdurrahman Sjihab. Al-washliyah is an islamic organization that has a relatively strong intellectual tradition and religion. Steenbrink revealed that al-washliyah is the third biggest ormas after nu and muhammadiyah (1980s). Al-washliyah is an organization established by ulimates and gives leading ulimates. One of al-washliyah's figures who serves in religious and state context is abdurrahman sjihab. At this time, works related to abdurrahman sjihab are relatively difficult to find, even when his key thoughts are no lost famous among the people, even at the national level. Efforts to introduce this figure, later successfully conducted by other al-washliyah scientists, namely dr. Ja'far through his 2 monumental works in book and journal articles.
