Abstract

This research was conducted at MAS Al Washliyah 22 Tembung Kec. Percut Sei Tuan Deli Serdang Regency with the aim of knowing: 1) to find out the application of SOP in academic services at MAS Al Washliyah 22 Tmbung, 2) to find out the involvement of teachers in preparing educational SOP at MAS Al Washliyah 22 Tembung, 3) to find out the involvement of the principal schools in supervising theimplementation of SOP in improving academic services at MAS Al Wahliyah 22 Tembung, 4) to determine the factors supporting and inhibiting the implementation of SOP at MAS Al Washliyah 22 Tembung. Thus the application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in improving academic services is a guideline or reference for carrying out tasks and work in accordance with the function of the job so as to achieve good educational services. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative, with data collection using observations, interviews and document studies. After the data is analysed, concluusions are then drawn by thinking deductively The results of the study reveal that: 1) The application of SOP in academic services is based on government regulations, all of which focus on the circular standards applied by the government, 2) The involvement of teachers in preparing educational SOP is not all only certain teachers understand what SOP are, 3) The involvement of the principal in supervising the implementation of SOP in improving academic services as monitoring activities carried out by theachers in the field of study and their respective homeroom teachers, 4) Supporting factors and inhibiting factors for implementing SOP in improving academic services supporting factors for the support from parents, from the community, evaluation of training from SOP, continuing education, and supervision. The inhibiting factors such as the different views of members in the preparation and implementation of SOP in each work unit, and from the personnel, namely the personnel still do not understand what SOP are. Althougt there are still some things that researchers think need to be improved, especially in the application of Standard Operating Prosedures (SOP) in improving academic services.
