Abstract
This study aims to find out how principals supervise in improving teacher discipline, to find out how preventive and corrective actions are taken by school principals, as well as to find out obstacles and solutions for principals in improving teacher discipline at SMP Al-Hidayah Bandar Selamat Medan. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The data sources of this study were the principal of three teachers and one Tu staff. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, interviews and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques were carried out by means of data reduction, data display, data verification and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that, first, most teachers apply discipline in accordance with applicable school regulations, second, in the implementation of supervision, the principal along with teachers and staff have established a warm, close and open environment, so that the implementation of supervision is effective and efficient. Discipline is the principal's concern for teachers who cannot accept the improvement and improvement plans that will be proposed by the principal.
