Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the leadership style of the madrasa principal in improving the professional competence of teachers, and also to find out what obstacles can hinder the process of increasing the competence of professional teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Medan. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The data sources used in this study were the head of the madrasa, the deputy head of the madrasa in the field of curriculum, the deputy head of the madrasa in the field of public relations and also the madrasa teacher. In the results of this study the head of the madrasa is one of the most influential factors in an educational institution because most of the success and failure of an institution can be determined by how to lead the leader of the institution. The success of madrasas will not run well without the help of madrasa teachers, madrasa principals and teachers must embrace each other in order to be able to manage madrasas well.
