Abstract

This study aims to discover the results of Google Translate and errors appearing in the English text translated by Google Translate in the thesis abstraction of the library science department at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra Medan 2021 academic year. This research is intended to find out quality of the translation results produced by Google Translation as a medium for translating text from Indonesian to English. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with analytical aspects to determine the translation results: Accuracy, Acceptability, and Readability. The findings of study indicate the result of google translation Indonesian to English accurate according to instrument and theory in this research. The result of google translation is accurate with a percentage value of 90% While the aspect acceptability 20%, readability 57%. This value applies to words, technical terminology, phrases, clauses, sentences, or translated materials that are simple to understand for readers.
