Abstract

Communities play a major role in the success, failure or inhibition of success in watershed management. The community is the beneficiary actor as well as the impact recipient in the management of natural resources in a watershed. Community participation is needed in watershed management from the planning stage to program monitoring and evaluation. Partner Problems: 1. The people of the Dolok Silou sub-district do not yet understand the integrated management of the DAS Sei Ular related to legal, social and economic aspects. 2. There has been no socialization about community empowerment in Dolok Silou District regarding the integrated management of the DAS Sei Ular. 3. There is no collaboration between independent institutions and the Dolok Silou District government regarding community empowerment. The stages of community service activities in the watershed start from introduction, socialization and education; coaching for the community around the DAS Sei Ular. The results of Community Service stated that: An understanding of the integrated management of the DAS Sei Ular related to the legal, social and economic aspects of the people of the Dolok Silou sub-district is very necessary; Socialization about community empowerment around the DAS Sei Ular in Dolok Silau District needs to be done to maintain existing resources and collaboration between stakeholders needs to be carried out as an effort to empower communities around the DAS Sei Ular in Dolok Silou District
