Abstract

Sharia insurance agents are at the forefront of advancing an insurance company. Insurance agents without competitiveness will not be able to survive in insurance companies. The illustration of the competitiveness of human resources can be seen in the behavior of insurance agents. This study aims to the analyze: (1) Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, increasing the competitiveness of sharia insurance agents; (2) The competitiveness strategy of sharia insurance agents; (3) The best strategy priority in increasing the competitiveness of sharia insurance agents. This study uses a qualitative method, by conducting Strength Weaknesses Opportunities Thread (SWOT) and Analytical Network Process (ANP) using Super Decession software. The results showed that: (1) Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, competitiveness of sharia insurance agents, are: (a) The strengths are: The role of agents as social services; Development of sharia education and marketing; Solid team; Discipline and Morals; Islamic product and company brands; (b) The weaknesses are: Mentality and toughness of agents; Socialization and publication; Sharia education facilities; Sharia product innovation; Sharia insurance agent performance monitoring system; (c) The opportunities are: Potential sharia insurance market; Market shares; Preferences and lifestyle; Legal regulation and protection; Technological development; (d) The Threats are: Synergy between LKS; Gray market position; Negative perception of the insurance agent profession; Sharia insurance penetration; Technology readiness. (2) The strategy to increase competitiveness of sharia insurance agents through SWOT analysis is comparative advantage (SO Strategy). Therefore, improvement efforts that can be made using strategies to increase the competitiveness of sharia insurance agents are: Training and Education; Operational; HR; Technical; and Marketing. (3) The strategic priorities in increasing the competitiveness of sharia insurance agents can be seen through the rater agreement and the results of the ANP synthesis, they are: (1) Based on the rater agreement value are: Quality; Training and Education; Alternative strategy; Operational; Human Resources; Technical; Marketing; (2) Based on the results of the synthesis: (a), the qualities are: Spiritual; Intellectual; Physical and Health. (b), alternative strategies: Training and Education; Marketing; HR; Operational; Technical. (c), Training and Education are: Sharia Skill Development; Soft Skills; Interpersonal Skills; Hard Skills. (d), Marketing are: Socialization and publication; Technical selling; Market segmentation; Marketing mix. (e), Operations are: Reward & punishment; Infrastructure; Licenses & regulators; Competition. Sixth, technical, are Mapping information; Digital services; Infrastructure; Earned media
