Abstract
Antenatal“Care (ANC) is a pregnancy examination carried out by pregnant women to detect early risks to pregnancy and childbirth. Pregnant women are encouraged to visit for a prenatal checkup according to a predetermined standard time. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the use of ANC services in the Galang Health Center Work Area. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional design. The population in this study were 1011 pregnant and childbirth mothers with a sample of 122 people. Sampling was done by accidental sampling. Data analysis used univariate analysis, bivariate analysis with chi square test and multivariate analysis with logistic regression test. The results showed that of the 122 respondents who used ANC services as much as 63.1% and 36.9% who did not use ANC services. Variables that influence the use of ANC services are knowledge (p=0.010), attitude (p=0.001) and family support (p=0.002). The variable that had no effect on the utilization of ANC services was the employment variable (p=0.354). Based on the results of multivariate analysis, the attitude variable (p=0.036<0.05 and the value of Exp(B)=2.566) has a 2 times greater effect on using ANC services than the knowledge and family support variables. Thus, it is suggested to the Puskesmas to further improve services by conducting outreach to the community, especially pregnant women about the importance of conducting regular ANC checks so that they have awareness in utilizing ANC services.”
