Abstract

This research describes how the handling of child trafficking in North Sumatra in terms of policies, programs, human resources, and finance. The background of the research on children is that since the issuance of Law number 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons, it has never been studied how the implementation of the four-state obligations. For that, it is important to be seen and studied. This study used a qualitative approach with the research subjects to handle child trafficking in North Sumatra province. Data collection was carried out by interview using interview guidelines and secondary data collection. As for the results of his research, it was found that the province of North Sumatra issued a law on child protection after having previously signed a regional regulation on the elimination of trafficking in women and children in 2005. Likewise, the province of North Sumatra made SOPs for handling. However, the issue of coordination and synergy between institutions remains a challenge. Data is also still a problem, especially in eliminating repetitive data. This requires attention between stakeholders in handling child trafficking in North Sumatra
