Abstract
The aims of this study are to analyze Abduh’s thought in the institution, curriculum and educational method aspects and its practical implementation in the faculty of Islamic Religion (FAI) at Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra. This study was qualitative approach and used two methods, namely library research (content analysis) and field research. There are three findings of this study. Firstly, Muhammad Abduh's thought was found in the institution, curriculum and learning method. Secondly, there were two factors that influenced Abduh’s thought, such as internal and eksternal factors. Thirdly, Lastly, Abduh’s thought implemented in the aspects of institution, curriculum and learning method in the Islamic Religion Faculty at Muhammadiyah University of Norh Sumatra
